Every so often a project comes along that is a little different from the norm, and this was certainly one of them. The Highfield Event Group were delighted to supply all of the marquees for a festival in Suffolk. Building an entire festival site on the sand was a new kind of challenge for our team, and one we thoroughly enjoyed!

Festival Marquee Hire on the Suffolk Coast

Supplying marquee hire for a festival on the beach front is quite unlike any other event we deliver. With the North Sea on one side and the promenade on the other, the site called for careful planning, close coordination with organisers and a real understanding of how structures behave in a coastal setting.

Working on the sand brings its own considerations, from ballasting and anchoring through to access and phasing, and our experienced team took it all in their stride. The result was a bustling festival village stretching along the seafront, ready to welcome tens of thousands of visitors across the weekend.

Sixteen Different Zones Across the Beach Front

The scale of this one was considerable. In total we created sixteen different zones across the site, each with its own purpose and character. From bars, food and makers' markets to workshop spaces, wellbeing areas, family zones and shelter for performers and crew, every structure had a job to do.

We supplied a real mix of marquees to suit, including framed marquees, pagodas and smaller structures, all arranged to keep visitors moving comfortably around the site. Delivering this many distinct spaces in a single build is exactly the kind of large scale event marquee hire our team relishes.

An Entire Festival Site Built in Just Four Days

Perhaps the most impressive part of the whole project was the timescale. The entire site, all sixteen zones, was built in just four days. It took meticulous planning, an early start each morning and a great deal of hard work from every member of the crew, but the site was handed over on schedule and ready for the gates to open.
